The new Automator is a self-contained controller specifically designed to simplify, and accelerate, the process of automating your laboratory. Automator makes automating your collection of hardware devices and sensors easy. It is a flexible tool that is easily configured to connect to the user's own component plan. Automator can then be programmed to control these components as a function of time, sensor and transducer inputs, operator inputs, inputs from other devices and switches, and the like.
Additionally, physical property measurements that the Automator reads from sensors and transducers can be graphed, and logged for later review, when the Automator is used in conjunction with its partner software: AutoVision. AutoVision is graphing and database software that is produced by Wasson-ECE specifically for the Automator. It graphs each of the sensor and transducer inputs in real-time via its 16 analog inputs, as well as each of the 24 discrete input/outputs. Displaying this data lets the user see the world from the perspective of the Automator, and aids in understanding hardware performance and automation control logic.
The Automator was designed with engineers and scientists in mind. Bench top or panel mounted hardware configurations are this controller's strength; small processes and experiments that are constrained by a short laboratory time frame and a need to get the job done with efficiency. Engineering work stations and experimental laboratories are a perfect fit for the Automator. A straightforward tool for moderate-scale process timing, regulation, sequence, and program flow decisions, the Automator revolutionizes laboratory automation.
